Design Services
Academic Computer Furniture Pty Ltd has historically serviced the eastern coast of Australia with design, manufacture and installation services. We will continue to service these areas with a complete package but we realize this web site may generate enquiry's from a much wider area than this and so to satisfy this need for our services we have broken our services down into several core competencies, Design - Manufacture - Installation - Delivery

At this stage of our development we provide design services only for institutions outside Australia. In future we may be able to provide a wider range of services. Or in some cases we can provide a design, detail drawing and manufacturing management for your project with a manufacturer in your area.
 
The process here requires an initial contact from the client. This will generate a list of requirements that are needed before a design can be undertaken. The design can include manufacturing detail or be simply a range of possible layout designs that can be incorporated in the room. Contacts Us

 
Manufacturing Services
ACF provides a manufacturing service that caters to our own designs but also manufactures to our client's specifications as well. Whether the requirement is for a specific application or a general room requirement.
 
Our manufacturing process sees the product designed and built, in the factory, then dismantled and delivered in flat pack form. We know before the product leaves the factory that the product is manufactured to the highest standard.  We use substrates and finishes provided by Australia's leading manufacturer of decorative commercial board products The Laminex Group. These materials are manufactured to Australian Standards and conform to strict environmental guidelines.
 
Our manufacturing services include either:
 
Design, manufacturing, shipping and installation instructions to be installed by your subcontractor. This service provides instructions for installation and shipping to your institution as well as the design and manufacture.
 
Or our standard service,
 
Design, manufacture and installation service, which we provide to institutions on the east coast of Australia and, depending on the project, to other parts of Australia. This may change as we develop relationships with other suppliers and upgrade our list of agencies.

Installation Services
Installation of the finished product is an important part of our package of services.  The product is delivered in flat pack form and unloaded on site by hand.

The installation process requires an understanding of the cabling issues to be addressed in the room. In some cases the cabling has been installed and data and power outlets are in place. Sometimes these are installed above the desktop, sometimes they are installed below the desktop. In other cases they will be installed on the modesty panels under the desk.

When data and power is to be installed under the desks then the electrical contractor needs to have installed basic cabling from electrical box to room before furniture installation. Electrical contractor returns after furniture installation to finalize running of cabling and power and data outlet installation. This method of installing power and data in Australia is called "hot wiring" and has certain safety regulations attached.

When data and power is to be installed independent of furniture layout then electrical contractor completes work prior to furniture installation.  Installation process can vary in time from three hours to two days depending on the layout.  Installation services are only provided to institutions along the east coast of Australia at present and to other areas of Australia depending on the work. In the future we intend to provide this service on a wider basis.

Delivery
Delivery is available with all services.  Product comes in flat pack form with screws, fittings and instructions on how to construct.  Products shipped interstate will be securely packed and sent via road transport.  Products shipped overseas will be priced FOB.
